Mills Group Wins Small Business Award!
Feb 18 2016 — Thursday
The Morgantown Area Chamber of Commerce chose Mills Group as its 2016’s Small Business of the Year! The Chamber recognized the Mills Group for its contribution to the local economy, job market staying power and its contributions to community projects.
Morgantown Area Chamber President Daniel Kimble states,
“Two-thirds of our chamber members are small businesses. The Small Business of
the Year Award is highly competitive and to receive that award is no small
measure. The Mills Group, in both customer service and quality of work,
exemplifies the highest standard. We are not only proud of the company’s work
here, but we are extremely proud of their work in other parts of the state and
country. The Mills Group exemplifies the best of what we do.”
Michael Mills, managing principal of the Mills Group, grew
up in Bethel, Vermont and attended the School of Architecture at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute. After several years working in Washington, D.C.
for one of the nation’s top preservation firms, he moved to West Virginia where
he established the Mills Group. Ten years later, the Mills Group has grown
to 14 people with offices in Morgantown and in Wheeling. Principal
Architect Victor Greco, AIA, oversees the Wheeling staff whose contributions
are an integral part of the Mills Group’s success.
The firm’s mission is to make West Virginia a better place, designing on the principles of the past. The firm is client-focused and dedicated to improving life through good design. “We create spaces that can change lives; whether it is a church or a farmers market, they impact people on a daily basis,” Michael said. “As an architect, I take great pride in designing something for the community and have it endure. We are vested in those projects. We care and that makes a difference.”
