Berkeley Springs Depot
The Town of Bath hired us to design stabilization and rehabilitation plans for the historic Berkeley Springs Depot, an important local architectural landmark that symbolizes the bustling center of activity that once emanated from the railroad serving the town. The rehabilitation included stabilization and restoration of a clay tile roof as well as masterplanning the adjoining 2.1 acre site. We researched historic maps and photographs to produce a three dimensional model of the train depot and highlighted how it changed over time. A conceptual site layout was developed that could serve as a local hub for arts, entertainment, and recreation as well as a much needed trailhead for the existing trail nearby.
