WVNCC Student Center
Another historic building was adaptively reused in downtown Wheeling. The Student Center included the renovation and addition to an auto dealership creating a 6,500 square foot facility to house a Barnes and Noble Bookstore and Cafe. The second level includes a multi-purpose student center, offices, and toilet rooms.
The exterior design of the building incorporated the same elements as the Applied Technology Center that was being renovated concurrently across the street, tying in elements of the surrounding historic buildings. The clock tower was designed to incorporate the old train towers that stood along the tracks of the former B&O Railroad Station, now the B&O Building, headquarters to West Virginia Northern Community College.
